Two new assistant principals will join incoming principal Amabel Crawford at Parker Junior High

Flossmoor School District 161 has introduced two new administrators at Parker Junior High School with the internal promotion of Tara Peacock and Michelle Wisniewski. Both will serve as an Assistant Principal and both have worked in Flossmoor School District 161 for more than five years.

“It was important for us to hire qualified and experienced professionals for these two positions,” said Dr. Dana Smith, Superintendent. “Parker is a gem of a school and Tara and Michelle will be great additions to the administrative staff.”

Peacock is likely the most recognizable of the two new administrators after teaching eighth-grade social sciences at Parker Junior High since 2003. Prior to that, Peacock worked as a fifth-grade teacher at Flossmoor Hills Elementary from 2000 to 2002 and at Winston Churchill Elementary in Homewood School District 153. Peacock holds a Master’s in Educational Administration from Governors State University, a Master’s of Teaching from National Louis University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University.

Wisniewski is also a familiar face after working as a case manager in District 161 since 2014. Prior to joining Flossmoor School District 161, Wisniewski worked as a case manager with the Speed Cooperative and as a guidance counselor in Bloom District 206. Wisniewski holds a Master’s in Educational Administration, a Master’s in School Counseling and Guidance from Lewis University, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of St. Francis.

According to incoming Principal Amabel Crawford, the knowledge and experience the new Assistant Principals bring to the administrative team at Parker Junior High will be invaluable as the 2019-2020 school year begins.

“Not only are they excellent candidates to fill these vacant positions, but their knowledge of the District and, specifically, of Parker Junior High are incredible assets to have as we embark on our first year together,” said Crawford.
