District Compensation Plan
Refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between District 161 and the Flossmoor Education Association
Flossmoor School District 161 has a locally designed salary plan for all employees. Employees are paid in accordance with administrative guidelines and an established pay structure. Periodically, the District's plans are reviewed by the administration and adjusted as needed. All District positions are classified as exempt or non-exempt according to federal law. Pay ranges establish the minimum daily rates that will be paid for each job in the District. Job classifications are determined by the Human Resources Department.
Teachers new to the District are placed on the salary schedule according to years of experience and level of education. The District shall pay each certified employee not less than the state minimum yearly salary. After initial employment, salary increases are determined according to the collective bargaining agreement. The District salary plan is designed to ensure that employee pay is equitable, competitive, and affordable.
Classified staff within the collective bargaining unit are placed on the salary schedule in the same manner as certified staff. For some positions, various bonuses exist for additional education beyond what is required for the position.
Each employee is required to verify their salary, experience, and workdays in August of each year. Employees can access this information in their iVisions Self Service portal located at this link: https://flossmoorsd161il.tylerportico.com/tesp/employee-selfservice/ After reviewing the information, employees should submit questions in writing to Human Resources. Employees may request additional information concerning job classifications and salary ranges from Human Resources.
Annualized Compensation
The District pays all employees over 12 months regardless of the number of months employed during the school year. Employees will be paid in equal semi-monthly payments, beginning with the first pay period of the school year. Salaried employees that separate prior to the start of the next school year will continue to receive paychecks through the end of their twelve month pay cycle. Hourly employees will receive a lump sum final paycheck for wages actually earned from the beginning of employment to the date of separation.
