New position created to spearhead human resource management:
Eric Melnyczenko is the newest member of Flossmoor School District 161 as he assumes the role of Director of Administrative Services following Monday’s approval by the District 161 School Board.
“This is a position that we’ve desperately needed during the last few school years and Eric fits the role perfectly,” said Dr. Dana Smith, Superintendent. “His experience in human resources, organizational development and educational leadership will be valuable tools to add to the administrative staff.”
Melnyczenko will join District 161 on July 1, 2019. His professional experiences include serving as Assistant Principal of Mokena Junior High School, Principal of Mokena Intermediate School, and Assistant Principal of Oak Glen Elementary School. Melnyczenko earned his Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Purdue University and holds a certification in Educational Administration, with endorsements as a Professional Human Capital Leader in Education (pHCLE) and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
The vote to approve Melnyczenko’s hiring came unanimously from the District 161 School Board. Michelle Hoereth, Board President, commended Melnyczenko’s resume, adding that his experience working in a variety of roles as an educator gave him a unique perspective on his upcoming role.
“Eric is the perfect combination of experienced educator and organizational leader that we need to lead the Human Resources Department in District 161,” said Hoereth.
