We are thrilled to once again participate in Flossmoor's annual MLK Day of Service! All five District 161 schools will be collecting a variety of goods and supporting various area charitable organizations.
Western Avenue will be collecting used sneakers for the Nike Reuse-a-Shoe program in which the rubber from the sneakers is recycled and reused for sports surfaces.
Parker Junior High School will be collecting toiletries and care supplies to support our local shelters.
Heather Hill will be assembling and delivering lunches for the South Suburban PADS and other local homeless shelters.
Flossmoor Hills will be cleaning litter from the school grounds and surrounding neighborhood.
Serena Hills invites families and guests to join in on MLK Day to write Valentine's Day cards for senior citizens living at Sunrise Senior Living.
