Today, the current Flossmoor School District 161 5th graders will journey to Parker Junior High for their Step Up Day! This exciting day offers incoming 6th-grade #FUTUREFALCONS a chance to familiarize themselves with PJH, providing an inside look at their new school for next year.

Earlier this week, Dr. Smith joined the Flossmoor Hills Girls on the Run team for a practice. While the rain forced their practice indoors, that didn't stop the laughter or fun. Good luck to the Girls on the Run teams from Flossmoor Hills and Heather Hill as they run their 5k this Saturday.

Last week the annual Visual Art Expo was on display for all to see at the District 161 Office. We are grateful for the skilled and inspiring art teachers who challenge our students to grow in their craft with each lesson.

The audience was charmed by the fabulous work of the students in the Lady Pirates of Captain Bree. Congratulations, and thank you to the crew, parent volunteers, students, and staff for bringing such a delightful show to the stage.
On Saturday, May 4, 2024, weather permitting, Flossmoor School District 161 will be applying an herbicide, and a fertilizer, to the district’s fields/grass areas at Normandy Villa, Serena Hills, Flossmoor Hills, and Western Avenue (avoiding Flossmoor Baseball). The products that will be used for this application are The Andersons Turf Products Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide, and Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide. These products comprise a selective broadleaf herbicide, and a lawn fertilizer, that will be used to control weeds/dandelions in these areas, and will also fertilize all district lawns.

Dr. Smith has been busy this weekend in Flossmoor School District 161. We caught up with him at the Flossmoor Hills musical where he said the song 'Buy Me' was a crowd favorite. Next up, Dr. Smith was a spirit judge at the Flossmoor Baseball Softball Opening Day Parade. He told us he had an impossibly hard time selecting winners and wished everyone a great season!
